FISHING MONTANA'S CABINET GORGE RESERVOIR
This is a fishery that has fallen a bit of hard times recently. While at one time, it was an excellent rainbow trout fishery, it now carries mostly non-game fish. The game fish it does offer are mostly bass and pike fishing. However, it is not out of the ordinary to pick up a few rainbow trout, bull trout, cutthroat trout, and/or brook trout.
If fishing for bass target submerged roadbeds as well as the typical structures like weedbeds and stumps.
The area is located at a fairly low elevation - approximately 2200 ft. There are numerous camping options close to the lake.
Baits
During the Spring fishery, use plugs, spinners, and plastic worms (black, dark purple, etc.). As the season progresses, transition to tube jigs and continue with rubber worms - but in flashier colors.
